Coming to terms with what we can not accept
Her face was strong, stone, set,
But her eyes
Her eyes wept
What was once lively and bright
Replaced now with Anguish
She was in her own world now
Caught in dysphoria
It was a shock she would conceal
Place it away in the unvisited corners of her mind
Cover it up
With a lie to herself
And no one else
No one could know
She couldn’t know
It was a dream
Nothing but a dream
A nightmare
The next day she would wake
And everything would go away
She told herself that everyday
All her life
