So I listened to an interesting
song a while ago, and I had to think about it. Jesusland by Ben Folds. It is quite interesting, the first time I heard it I didn't know what to think. My first thought, without basing it on any lyrics, was that it was poking fun at Jesus. But then I thought it just couldn't, it didn't sound like it was. So I studied it a bit more, and what I found was pretty cool. You are supposed to imagine the song like he is singing it about Jesus Christ. As in what would it be like for Jesus if he came to earth today, walked around, and saw what people thought of him. How they used him for their personal gain, but they didn't really know him. It is saddening, but the truth. We recently just started watching Vintage Jesus with some people at campus life, and were talking about how in modern society people use Jesus for what they want him to be, not what he is. It can pretty much be summed up by a lyric in the song.
